Newsworthy items for the rest of 2016:
v CHRISTMAS IN THE SQUARE
On December 3rd, Troop 92 will host a booth at Columbian Square's Annual "Christmas in the Square". We will be selling some of our wreaths and handing out some materials to market our Troop to prospective Scouts. All Scouts in the Troop are asked to participate by spending some time at the booth between 4:00-7:00pm (and assist with clean up). Watch for the sign-up sheet and Facebook notifications.
v MOMs of TROOP 92
We will be meeting periodically during the regularly scheduled Monday night Scout meetings to set and carry out some goals to effort the cause of Troop activities. Besides, its a good reason for the mothers to get together for some social interaction and to get more involved.
Welcome to our newest Troop 92 Families! We hope you are excited to get involved in our Troop, we are certainly looking forward to meeting all of you…
A few newsworthy items to make note of:
Congratulations to all the Scouts who will successfully complete their tasks at MBU (Merit Badge University) on March 26th. Kudos to all of the adult leaders who have volunteered their time and efforts for the benefit of the Scouts. It will be great to hear all about what everyone has accomplished this session!
v FUNDRAISER ALERT…
Don’t Forget… each Tuesday in April, Not Your Average Joes in Norwell will donate 15% of every coupon-holder’s bill, back to Troop 92. With a big trip coming up this summer, we will be appreciative of every dollar earned. Simply bring the printed NYAJ flyer, or show it on your phone, and the waiter/waitress will credit the Troop! (Excludes alcohol, tax, gratuity.) Please share this with all of your friends and family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. It’s a great restaurant, excellent food, terrific service, and even a gluten-free menu available if that fits anyone’s needs. Mark your calendars for April 5, 12, 19, 26… and be sure to say thank you to the manager for supporting our group!
v COMMITTEE MEETING…
Speaking of Tuesdays at NYAJ, the next Troop 92 Committee Meeting will be Tuesday April 5th at 7:00pm at NYAJ in Norwell. The manager (Sarah) has kindly reserved a table for us and is excited to welcome us that evening. We will have time to discuss Troop business and certainly time to chit-chat and get to know any new parents joining our Troop! Welcome all……
v SPRINGTIME ELBOW GREASE…
Its finally spring, and that means lots of clean-up! Watch for upcoming information on various opportunities to lend a hand! We hope to see some happy Scouting faces at the Herring Run Clean-Up, the Wompatuck Clean-Up, and St. Albert’s Parish parking lot clean up.
Updates for December, 2012:
Steven Libby has finished his Eagle project! The Troop has been invited to attend the Christmas Creche dedication ceremony after services on Sunday, December 16th at about 11:45 am. We will meet in the parking lot beginning at 11:15 in full Class A uniform. For any of you who didn't make it to help Steven with his project, please plan on attending the dedication so you can see what a great job he did with the creche and figurines.
Sign-up for Merit Badge University (MBU) started December 3rd. MBU will be held March 2nd, 9th and 23rd at Southeastern Vocational High School in Easton. The cost is $20 to cover the three merit badge handbooks. An email detailing all the info was sent out at the end of November. The sign-up deadline has been extended by Council so all selection forms need to be turned in to the Scoutmaster no later than December 29th. Please see the Scoutmaster for forms, to volunteer as a hall monitor/merit badge counselor or if you have any other questions.
